German born, I have been based in Cambridge since 1978 after graduating from Central St. Martin's, London. Over the years I have established a customer following in Europe and America as a regular exhibitor at home and abroad. I am a Johnson & Matthey Platinum Award winner and a member of the Designer Jewellers Group.
I have a liking for strong, simple shapes and often I incorporate the functional part of a piece into the design. My preference is for high-grade gold alloys and silver, semi- and precious stones, also maritime opercula, buffalo horn and road aggregate, sourcing some materials from South Asia. I have a special affection for India, where I have worked on two EU funded assignments.
A considerable part of my work is done to order, and it gives me pleasure to discuss a commission with a client, possibly incorporating an old or specially purchased stone into a wearable piece of jewellery.
